The development of independent learning and research skills is enhanced by students ability to use Information Technology. Significant advances have been made in recent years at Columba to provide students with the equipment and opportunities to become confident and competent users of IT.
Students have access to four computer laboratories and a class set of 25 laptops.
All Years 7 to 10 students have a Unit or Module of Information Technology for two periods a week for a term each year.
A full-time Computer Technician and Support Person is available to assist staff and students.
The campus is networked with Jetstream providing fast access to the Internet.
Every student in Years 7 to 13 has her own school e-mail address.
The School has an Internet Acceptable Use policy and agreement which must be signed by each student in Years 7 to 13 and a parent before she is able to access the Internet at school.
An increasing number of site licenses are being purchased by the School with Photo Shop for Level 3 Design students a recent example.
