Thank you for your interest in applying to Columba College. Our school is located on Highgate, overlooking the city of Dunedin and Otago Harbour, in beautiful grounds that feature heritage buildings alongside state-of-the-art modern facilities. Columba is an area school, with boys and girls in the Year 0-6 primary campus and girls only in the Years 7 to 13 middle and senior schools. Founded on Presbyterian foundations and values we are also a girls’ boarding school from Year 7.

Fees

As a state-integrated school Columba College charges $2,034 per annum as attendance dues.

We also request an AVC of $1920 per annum. This helps ensure we meet the expectations of parents in terms of a broad curriculum, small class sizes and our special character.

Academic

  • The Grace McIntosh Award for the top Year 10 student in the Middle School. Tenable for one year. Value $500. Awarded at prize-giving.
  • The Clarice Ashworth Award for the top Year 12 student in the Senior School. Tenable for one year. Value $500. Awarded at prize-giving.
  • The Roslyn Physiotherapy award for a Year 13 student continuing studies in the health sciences. Value $500. Awarded at prize-giving.
  • The Principal’s Leadership Scholarship for a Year 13 student intending to study at Otago Polytechnic. Value up to $1500. Awarded at prize-giving.
  • The Wong family Award for the top student in Mandarin. Value $200. Awarded at prize-giving.

Arts / Cultural

  • The Winifred McQuilkan Award for a Middle School student to develop talent in a field of the Arts. Tenable for one year. Value $500. Awarded after an application process at the end of term one.
  • The Agnes Loudon Award for a Senior School student to develop talent in a field of the Arts. Tenable for one year. Value $500. Awarded after an application process at the end of term one.

Sports

  • The CMSS scholarship to value of $500 is available to a Middle School student. Tenable for one year. Value $500. Awarded after an application process at the end of term one.
  • The Sports’ Council scholarship to value of $500 for a Senior School student. Tenable for one year.

New Zealand Representative Award

  • Students are presented with a tie and a plaque which is displayed in the Marsh Sports Centre foyer.
